Every profession has its own life cycle which can be divided into several phases. It is interesting that the designer’s life cycle stands out from the rest, primarily because of its duration and intensity.

Phase one in the life cycle of the designer is the phase of education, undergraduate and eventually postgraduate study, together with various courses to acquire additional knowledge, participation in workshops, group projects, and so on. Phase two is the phase of applying the knowledge and skills acquired and the gaining of any necessary practical experience. During this phase, designers work as studio assistants, as graphic designers in publishing houses, in design departments of large companies, or in the creative departments of marketing agencies. Phase three is the phase of definition – the moment or period when the designer should achieve the degree of self-esteem that allows him to be fully responsible for his prospective job.
